PLA、PGA(Polylactic acid series)
The primary raw material for PLA is bio-based lactide, while the primary raw material for PGA is bio-based glycolide.
The production process begins with ring-opening prepolymerization using an initiator, followed by melt devolatilization and polycondensation, and finally high-viscosity devolatilization to obtain products with sufficient molecular weight. These products are mainly used in the production of fibers and packaging materials.
Production facilities are categorized into batch and continuous types. The batch type consists of a two-reactor system with a devolatilizer. Continuous production employs a three-reactor system with a high-viscosity devolatilization reactor, and some processes use mixed tubular reactors.
